The many shades of smart

With the rise of inclusive classrooms, teachers are looking for ways to reach the diverse learners in their classrooms. This week’s FREE tool is a table, Multiple Intelligences, which lists the different areas of strength a student might have along with descriptions of how each strength contributes to learning. The focus on strengths instead of deficits will help teachers see students in light of their potential by pointing out the different ways it can be expressed. The table comes from the CEC book, “Differentiating Instruction in the Inclusive Classroom: Strategies for Success,” a comprehensive new resource which explains the what, how, and why of differentiated instruction so teachers can make the most of their inclusive classrooms. CEC’s Tool of the Week is a free resource designed to support you in your special education practice. Subscribe and it’ll be automatically delivered to your inbox!  Get your Tool of the Week.
