Write it out

Cooling Down the ClassroomFor many school districts, the holidays mark the end of the semester or quarter, and finalizing a grading period often involves end-of-unit tests or even midterm exams. To help your students keep cool during times of high pressure, this week’s FREE tool is a “test prep journal” students can use to record and rethink their nervous thoughts. Do they worry they’ll forget everything they studied come test day? Have them write that worry down and replace it with something more affirming! The journal comes from “Cooling Down Your Classroom: Using Yoga, Relaxation and Breathing Strategies to Help Students Learn to Keep Their Cool,” a book of yoga-centered lesson plans designed to help students keep energized and focused at school.
